GONSIN на 4-й Конференции Организации Объединенных Наций по НРС


The Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC-IV) was convened during 9-13 May, 2011 in Istanbul, Turkey, pursuant to the United Nations General Assembly resolutions 63/227 and 64/213.

 

The five-day summit meetings and 46 special events were held at the Istanbul Congress Centre and Lutfi Kirdar Convention Centre. 

 

LDC-IV is one of the largest U.N. meetings this year and was attended by close to 10000 participants from 192 countries, including U.N. Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon, President of U.N. General Assembly Joseph Deiss, President of European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, and 22 heads of state, 19 prime ministers, 10 deputy prime ministers, heads of 47 international organizations and 1,000 companies.

 

The conference organizers chose Gonsin and its local partner as the supplier of conferencing systems and AV equipment for technical solution, operation and support during the conference.   6 sets of Gonsin digital conference system including 6 chairman units and 1000 delegate units were provided to equip the summit meetings and special events.

 

The LDCs includes 33 states from Africa, 14 from Asia plus Haiti.  The UN-backed LDCs conference takes place every ten years.  France hosted the first two in 1981 and 1990.  The third was held in Brussels in 2001.

 

The LDC-IV conference adopted the Istanbul Programme of Action for the decade 2011-2020 and endorsed the goal of raising half the existing least developed countries out of the LDC category by 2022.
